Mañaland

I'll be going to San Jose, Costa Rica with my girlfriend, Lulu, to start a 6-8 month journey around parts of Latin America on 13 Sept, '06. Hope this blog will keep people posted on our where-abouts, who-ya-seeins and whatcha-been-doins.

Having lived in Honduras and Colombia prior to this journey I can definitively say that Latin America is Mañanaland! "Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow?" is the quote that comes to mind when I'm in Latin America.

As a 'Westerner' I find this attitude to be increasingly annoying at times, and at other times I find it very appealing. It all depends on the frame of mind and/or mood I'm in. Usually I can accept it and go w/ the flow. But on the days where you need something done (and done right - HA!) it's really frustrating.

I hope you keep up w/ Lulu and my journeys as we go through the monotonous, extreme, laughable, appalling days that we'll experience together in Mañanaland.
